Navy Employer Recognition Event (NERE)

The 2026 Navy Employer Recognition Event (NERE) will be held in June 2026 in San Diego, California.

Employer support is essential for SELRES to achieve warfighting readiness, support the mission of the Navy Reserve and defend our nation. In demonstrating dedication to their citizen-sailors, outstanding employers ease the burden that SELRES experience when serving in two professions. NERE provides an opportunity for the Navy Reserve to reward many of these employers with a celebration of their contributions.

Commander, Navy Reserve Force (CNRF) selects a representative sampling of outstanding employers from various industries around the United States.

SELRES are encouraged to provide a detailed summary of employer contributions to inform the selection process, and continue to nominate their companies (in subsequent years) even if they are not selected to attend NERE 2026. Invitations will go to executive level leaders of the selected civilian company.

Nominees must be from non-government, civilian companies.

The portal is now open for Selected Reserve (SELRES) Sailors to nominate employers for an invitation to attend.

Background

What is NERE?

NERE recognizes civilian employers who provide outstanding support to Reserve Sailors in their organizations.

It is an all-day event including tours of Navy ships, aircraft and facilities. Transportation and lunch are provided for guests.

NERE concludes with a dinner reception with the Chief of Navy Reserve and Commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command, as well as other flag officers.

For Navy Reserve Sailors, if your employer has provided you and your family with outstanding support as you serve in our great Navy, please consider nominating your leadership to attend NERE 2025.
