Master Chief Petty Officer (AW) Van "Chris" Louvier, Command Master Chief, Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve

Command Master Chief Louvier, a native of Houston, Texas, enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1997. Following graduation from Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Naval Air Technical Training Center in Pensacola, Florida for Aviation Machinist Mate Basic "A" school. His first tour of duty was Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) in Washington, D.C. where he advanced to Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class.

 

Command Master Chief Louvier completed assignments at Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VR) 48 at in Washington, D.C.; Fighter Squadron Composite (VFC) 12 in Oceana, Virginia; VR-46 in Atlanta, Georgia; Commander, Tactical Support Wing in Fort Worth, Texas, as the F/A-18 Class Desk; Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 204 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as the Maintenance Senior Chief; VR-62 in Jacksonville, Florida, as the Maintenance Senior Chief; and Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 60 in Mayport, Florida, as the Maintenance Master Chief.

 

In 2015, he was selected as a Command Master Chief (CMC) and served his first CMC tour at VR-56 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His following CMC tours were: Commander, Tactical Support Wing at in Fort Worth, Texas and Fleet Readiness Center Reserve Mid-West in Fort Worth, Texas. Currently, he serves as the Command Master Chief of Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve, with dual headquarters in San Diego, California and Norfolk, Virginia.

 

His academic achievements include the Senior Enlisted Academy, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course, U.S. Fleet Forces Command Executive Leadership Symposium, and the Flag Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course.

 

Command Master Chief Louvier is designated as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various other service awards.
