NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, FLORIDA –
Damage Controlman 1st Class Jarrod Fountain, is the Leading Petty Officer of N3 Operations at NR CNSG SE DET B.
DC1 Fountain demonstrates unwavering dedication and excellence in the command mission, providing shipboard maintenance and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) across NR CNSG SE. He oversees the mission organizational requirements for IDTT orders for cross-assigned Sailors. Additionally, DC1 Fountain serves as the 3MTA for NR CNSG DET B, qualifying three personnel this fiscal year.
DC1 Fountain has volunteered 30 hours at the Lakeland Dream Center, distributing meals and clothing to those in need. Furthermore, he has devoted 30 hours of volunteer time at Grace City Church through ministry and operational matters. He is currently working towards becoming a Chaplain and plans to serve on active duty upon completion. Additionally, DC1 Fountain is a Chaplain at Lakeland Regional Hospital.
“I am in my fourth unit of CPE to become a Nationally Board-Certified Hospital Chaplain through ACPE; it's basically another master's degree," he explained.
Lakeland ER is ranked the second busiest in the country. He will be applying for Chaplaincy at the end of August this year. His hard work and dedication to the United States Navy have led to his recognition as Reserve Sailor of the Quarter for fiscal year 2024.
