It is my distinct pleasure to congratulate Command Master Chief Robert W. Lyons II, on his selection to become the next Command Master Chief for Commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command.
Command Master Chief Lyons will be joining our team at a critical point in our Reserve Force’s transformation with our new Chief of Navy Reserve, Commander Navy Reserve Force, Vice Adm. Nancy Lacore. As we continue to prioritize warfighting readiness, while aligning with CNO’s priorities of Warfighting, Warfighters, and Foundation by delivering a more ready and lethal Reserve Force through CNR’s strategic initiatives of Posture, Accelerate, and Strengthen. We will need strong leaders like him to help us execute our mission and ensure the success of the Navy’s Strategic Advantage.
Command Master Chief Lyons, a native of Garden Springfield, IL, comes to CNRFC from Fleet Readiness Center Mid-West. He has served at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, Strike Fighter Squadron TWO ZERO ONE (VFA-201). In 2000, he deployed on the USS ROOSEVELT, (CVN 71) in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. He also served at United States Transportation Command, Joint Operational Support Airlift Center, Fleet Logistics Support Squadron SIXTY ONE (VR-61), Patrol Squadron SIXTY NINE (VP-69), and Navy Manpower Analysis Center.
His Command Master Chief tours include Navy Reserve Center (NRC) Pearl Harbor, where he led them to receive the 2017 Region Southwest NRC of the year award. He served as Navy Personnel Command as the SEL FTS Detailer and PERS-4012 CSEL, Maritime Support Wing CMC, and currently serves as the Command Master Chief at Fleet Readiness Center Mid-West, NAS Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base, TX.
With the additional expertise, experience, and unique perspectives that Command Master Chief Lyons will bring to the table, there is no limit to the things our Navy Reserve can achieve.
